$186 and 3 points

That's what Mr. SUV's attitude cost him. The Waukesha Deputy called me back to let me know that he issued a citation for improperly passing a bike. This is the first citation anyone has issued since I've started using the camera.
I honestly was going to ask him nicely to give cyclists more room next time. He gave me attitude, so the Deputy gave him a ticket.
It is not nessecarily my goal to get people tickets, but if that's the only way they will understand and follow the law, that's what I'll push for.
More thoughts on this later.

Sounds like the driver gave the sheriff attitude too.

It would be my guess that he gave the deputy some attitude given my conversation with the deputy. It appears he got what he deserved. I just hope he learns his lesson and doesn't do it again.

Hi Jeff. Great job on the videos! I commute to work everyday and I was wondering if you could provide some detail on the video setup (or post a link). It would be nice to keep the drivers here in STL honest as well. Thanks and be careful.

Hey, Jeff. Agree with gillandersw - please share video setup - been hit and run off the road as well and it would be nice to have something more then "he said, she said." Ride on!

Hi Jeff . . . I'm full of admiration for the lengths you are going to, using proper procedure and polite interaction, to educate people in your area about what it's really like to be a cyclist on the road and be discriminated against by various motorists. Whether they are ignorant or just plain hateful, you are absolutely doing the right thing to stand up for your rights! Good for you! . . . Dave K.

gillandersw and George,
I'll try and get a tutorial up soon, but basically I just velcro an Oregon Scientific ATC 2K camera to my helmet and one to my handlebar.

How much record time do you get on your camera?

Nice job, I bet this is going to be a trend.

I have an ATC 2k as well. With a 2 gig memory card you get about 1-2 hours of video. you can make it record longer if you degrade the resolution. The ATC settings are similar to a vcr with video recording quality settings.
